Mike, I just sent you an email. I've reviewed the blog. It looks great. The art is terrific. The one of the older lady is great work, water color I guess. I would post as many as you have, including pictures of those that you've sold so a complete presentation of your work can be present online.
I have been a professional artist for over 40 years. I started as a newspaper illustrator and cartoonist. I worked as an illustrator for 25 years for clients like General Motors and the Dallas Cowboys. I moved away from commercial work years ago and spend my time teaching and painting now. I have lived on or around the ocean most of my life except for the last few years. I now live on a Tennessee mountain top and to my surprise I like it very much. I love British sports cars and own three MGs. I also like autocrossing them in the SCCA along with a Miata. I served in the Marine Corps as a CAP Marine in Vietnam and was still able to do a little drawing.

ReplyDeleteMike, your work is incredible! I particularly like the golden dog. You have actually captured the wisdom in its face and eyes. I love it!
ReplyDeleteIs there any way you can also include some of your earlier cartoon illustrations?
Mike - awesome artwork! I always wondered if you'd continue to use your artistic gift. (Sean Kennedy answered that question at the reunion.)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad I stumbled onto your blogspot - It's been incredibly busy at work so I haven't checked out Mike's blog in awhile.
I'll definitely be back and thanks for sharing the beauty!
I also remember your cartoons - in particular the one on the Kings Park Bus of Batman & Robin! Still makes me laugh!
